Memorial Day Information
Here’s the handout for Memorial Day that Middle School and High School students will be hearing about this week. They’re encouraged to get it online, but we do have hard copies in the band rooms.
Band Backers Scholarship Form
There is Band Backer scholarship money available to any band student attending instrumental music camp this summer.
Any student who fills out an application is eligible for a scholarship that typically runs $100-$200, depending on number of students participating.
Application consists of a short written application and playing of a short prepared piece at Band Backers April 16th meeting – 6:30 pm at high school band room.

All applications are due to Mr. G or Mr. T by April 13.
Middle School Jazz Band
Jazz Band 2012
Jazz Band will be taking place every Monday afternoon from 4:00 – 5:15pm starting March 19, 2012. Students will be given a binder featuring all the music that we own for MS jazz band. We will choose 5 or so songs out of there to work on. It is imperative that these are kept in excellent condition and not lost or abused.
After school concerts include:
May 7 -Spring Band Concert – Spring Lake High School Auditorium
May 22- Jazz Night – Spring Lake High School Jazz Bands featuring the Paul Keller Trio and the “Hip Pocket” horns.
May 24 – Fruitport Jazz Festival – Pomona Park
Students will be expected to come to rehearsal ready to work, with parts practiced and ready to have a great time!
