First Annual Laker FUNd JAM!

We are excited to announce our first Annual SL Laker Bands “FUNd Jam”!! Showcasing the talents of our 5th-12th grade bands, this March 13 event will be a great time of enjoying our kids’ music while supporting our fabulous band program. It will include a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction of AMAZING themed baskets designed with articles donated by your band students (and beautifully assembled by Kelly Larson, owner of Sweet Temptations)!! The proceeds from the “FUNd Jam” will benefit ALL bands.

Basket themes will be selected by bands and/or sections with their directors. Examples might include:
Popcorn Family Fun Night Basket – Possible items: Assorted popcorn, seasonings, gift cards to Cinemas or Family Video, a Wesco Popcorn bucket, etc.

Culinary/Bakers basket – Kitchen items, cooking class gift card, apron, chef’s hat, recipes, etc.

Gardener’s Delight basket – HS students donate volunteer hours to do spring cleanup; gardening tools, gloves,

Everyone attending the “FUNd Jam” may bid on the silent auction items, and 100% of the proceeds will benefit the SL Band program.

We have a great need for donations from all band families to help us put together these baskets! We are asking each student for a minimum $10 donation, which may include a themed item for a basket, a gift card or a cash donation toward the basket creations. Every student bringing in an “early bird” donation (before February 5th) will be entered into a drawing to win an iTunes card and other great prizes. Students will receive multiple entries for all “early-bird” donations over $10!
If you have a family business or know a business owner who would be willing to donate a large item for auction please let us know. All donations are appreciated and tax-deductible!
EVERY SL BAND STUDENT WILL PERFORM, and the nale will include a MASS band with all band students together! You won’t want to miss this event! Please invite your extended family and friends!

Room @ 7:00 pm on Monday, January 25. Please join us ~ all are welcome!

February – Item donations continue through Feb. 19th. Students bring items or gift cards for the baskets into their band directors. Parent volunteers will pick up. Reminder calls will be made to families to ensure all are included for their band baskets. Students will be preparing music during band to be performed at the “FUNd Jam” event.
March – Baskets will be created and details nished before the FUNd Jam event on Sunday, March 13th @ 2:30 pm!
